The Basics Of digital photography Exposed

Here I shall put forward a few basic photography recommendations that will assist beginners start off in the field of photography. digital photography itself can be a significant leap forward from the old style photography that some beginners might still use even these days. With any luck , these few guidelines can help you really feel at home with your new camera.

To begin with before you start off you should always browse over the camera user manual, and despite the fact that this sounds logical, it is really incredible to know that many people find themselves throwing the digital camera guide away, and don’t actually read it. The users handbook will explain all you need to know about the digital camera itself, as well as the various features and settings located on the camera. Most importantly it’s going to tell you how long to charge your camera battery before you use the camera,as if the battery is not charged for the correct time period at the start you will never get the proper lifetime out of the battery.

One more note I would really like to include on the battery concern is by no means leave your camera redundant during long stretches with the battery still inside. Should it be not in use during long stretches then take out the battery. Do not take on the risk of breaking your photographic camera.

Second of all in the event that you reside in an urban area or city why not check around and see if you have a digital camera club near by. Perhaps even if there exists a local college in the area they might have a digital camera club. It will definitely help to have the capacity to ask people questions on a one to one base, to get other peoples ideas and thoughts, and occasionally they’ll hold talks or even competitive events that will provide you with new ideas about how exactly to make use of your digital camera in a variety of conditions.

Learning the basic principles of camera use is extremely important because a digital camera could be a very costly purchase . There isn’t a lot of point having to pay big bucks for a higher specs digital camera when you do not know precisely what most of the camera settings can be used for. When you have read the users handbook and also properly charged and mounted the battery, you’re all set to start taking photos. At this stage a lot of completely new digital photographers might simply start clicking away, but it is the same as with all photography in that you only need to hold your camera steady and push the shoot button softly.

Occasionally cameras might be small, and really feel light when your are holding them, but you must still hold them steadily any time taking photos. There is no point in having a one-time picture occasion simply to see later on that the image has been shaken. It will not be as vital for buildings or landscape pictures since you can capture them a couple of times and eliminate the ones you don’t want. I hope these couple of tips with regard to the basics of photography will help you when getting started with a digital camera, and hopefully you will have no difficulty for taking excellent photos from day one.

I would like to get into street photography..any tips/advice..like ive been told dslr is too big to lug around?

so what kind of camera should i be using..
(i do own a dslr, but im just wondering in your opinion what you would do)

people have said a small camera is best for street photography.
any tips and advice would be great..
(ill be shooting digital just so you know not to recomenned film)

Answer
I shoot street candids with a DSLR with either a 24-70mm f2.8 lens or an 85mm f1.8. I don’t find my DSLR ‘too big’ to lug around.

If you want quality shots & the ability to throw the b/g out of focus (essential imo for street portraits, to isolate the subject) then a compact camera is NOT gonig to achieve this.

I shoot aperture priority or manual for street.

Digital Photography Simple Tips And Advice To Help You

For sure, even those of us who’ve always owned digital cameras for a long time can use tips on how to make better pictures and troubleshoot when problems arise. And beginners to digital photography need a little guidance to build confidence in their ability to take great shots.

Here are some points to remember about digital photography pointers:

Ever see a fantastic scene outside your bay window at home or your car window and wonder whether you can shoot a good picture through glass? The answer is, yes, you can. All you need to do is stand as close as you can to the glass when you take the shot. This minimizes the effect of light reflecting on the shiny surface of the glass.

Would you like to take some shots of rectangular paintings to put in an online gallery, but fear they’ll come out resembling parallelograms instead of rectangles? Don’t worry. digital photography can work for you in this case if you line your camera and picture up so that they are perfectly parallel. If you raise the picture on the wall and the camera on a tripod so that the center of the camera lenses is trained right on the center of the picture should do the trick, and you’ll seem like a pro.

Have you tried to take pictures of children at play and been dissatisfied because the great scene you tried to capture is already gone by the time you push the shutter button, and you’re left with something not very interesting and perhaps unclear? You might know the solution to this. Increase your shutter speed because that will help freeze action. Also, knowing that your tykes are almost always in motion, try to discern where the action is going next, and point the camera there and you’ll have a better chance of catching the next perfect moment developing before you.

Have you quit taking nighttime shots because whenever you took pictures of your friends at an evening gathering with your new digital camera the shots were all way too dark With this problem you do the opposite from what you do to get great shots of kids at play. You decrease your shutter speed-1/15 or 1/30 of a second rather than the standard 1/60 of a second should do it for you.

Perhaps one of the most important things is to read the instruction manual that came with your camera, and you should try out all of the features to see how they work. Also, find others who are interested in learning how to make the most of digital photography. Share tips and go out on picture taking adventures together. Sooner or later you’ll be giving other people much better tips than these in no time!

Does anyone have any digital picture taking tips?

I would like to have ideas on digital camera photography.

Answer
Learn the basics of photography and you’ll be much happier with your end results. You’ll have “photos” instead of just “snapshots!” :) Good photography books can be found at used bookstores for $5 or so and you can pretty much use the information from a book about 35mm photography on any camera whether it be film or digital. I love when the basics never change! What kind of digital camera do you have?

A Digital Photography Question?

I am looking for any websites that provide tips for amateur digital photographers. If there are ones that specifically cater to my type of my camera that would be wonderful. I own a Nikon Coolpix 3500. If not, that’s fine, I am just an amateur photographer looking for tips. If you can also provide the names of FREE photo editing software that are available online, I would also appreciate that. Thanks!

Answer
Picasa is one of the free editing softwares, although it doesn’t have the range of Adobe : )

All I have is lighting – Try www.strobist.blogspot.com it’s one site that promotes the strobist way of lighting. I’m an amateur myself and haven’t really read what’s in it. Might help you though : )

You can also join forums if you want further help on photography. Good luck : )
